History of the hospital:

Shahid Kamiab Hospital is one of the specialized research centers of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in the field of accidents and trauma in the country, which responds to patients referred from inside and outside the country.

The construction operation of Emdad Hospital was started by Shir and Khurshid Waqt (Red Crescent) in the first half of the 1940s with an infrastructure of about 2,500 square meters and an area of approximately 17,000 square meters.

Of course, the construction of a part of the hospital's facilities, such as the hand and foot workshop, continued until the late 40s. After the death of the managing director of Shir and Khurshid population and until the victory of the revolution, this hospital was renamed after him, that is, Timur Sahami Relief Hospital.

The capacity and expansion of the hospital:

  The initial capacity predicted for the hospital was 50 beds, which has gradually increased to more than 300 active beds with the physical expansion of the spaces.

The first period of physical development of the plan began in the first half of the 50s and in the western part of the main and primary mass of the hospital, with a three-story building with an infrastructure of about 4000 square meters.

The main purpose of the construction of this building was to open the open heart surgery department on the ground floor, C.C.U.

The construction of this building was completed in 1356-57 and it was ready to install medical equipment. The great political and social changes and the beginning of the imposed war on one side and the infection of the neurological department of Imam Reza (AS) hospital and its temporary transfer to Emdad Hospital (this temporary transfer turned into a permanent one) led to the construction of a new building as a neurosurgery block, I.C.U and The relevant hospital department will play a role.

In the first half of the 1960s, there was no fundamental change in the physical expansion of the hospital spaces, but in the second half of the decade, spaces such as the mosque and the second floor of the original hospital building were added to the site. It was time for the construction effort to be purchased and added to the hospital premises.
